Painting – When Up is Down & Down is Up

Imagine a day at the park, strolling under colourful lily pads, when night is day, day is night, and gravity is optional.

Every so often while painting, I like to venture into the unknown, just to keep my sense of humor and “life muscles” toned. I decided to create a painting that contained no rhyme nor reason, but in the end….it sort of does, it contains imagination.

A little fun with quotes from Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll.

“Why, sometimes, I have believed six impossible things,
before breakfast.”

“…you’re entirely BONKERS. But I will tell you a little secret…
ALL THE BEST PEOPLE ARE.”

“I’m not strange, weird, off or crazy,
my reality,
is just different from yours.”

“She began to believe that very few things
are indeed, IMPOSSIBLE.”

“I can’t go back to yesterday
because I was a different person then.”

“Not all who wander, are lost.”

“If everybody minded their own business,
then the world would go around
a great deal fast, than it does.”

“Look on the bright side,
I will sit with you in the dark.”

“At every moment of our lives,
we have one foot in a fairy tale,
and the other in the abyss.”

“It would be so nice,
if something made sense for a change.”

“What an idea,
a crazy, mad, wonderful idea.”

“Every adventure, requires a first step.”

– Thank you.

    1. Thank you Longveiw! It was really interesting to reread these quotes and think about them after all these years… many have a great deal of insight from a whole different perspective that I had not realized before!
