Creativity – Experimenting, Exploring, & Discovering
This week as I continued to create art for face masks, I decided to experiment with combining three styles I adore; Batik, Wood Block, and Tiffany Glass. Above, is my first first experimental painting using this combination. Then I painted it again, expanded the design, and began developing the “copper foil” appearance between each piece. The copper foil method of stained glass construction involves wrapping the edges of each piece of glass with a copper foil tape, then joining them by soldering them together.

As I painted, I thought about how vital it has always been in my life to question everything, and explore new concepts and ideas. Being open to new information, broader truths, and expanding my awareness of the “bigger picture” of simply being a human. A good friend of mine has said; “Changing your mind, is one of the hardest things to do.” And also I think one of our greatest freedoms. In the last five months I have observed our world come to realize just how important it is to explore our own minds and hearts, and what it is we each truly believe.
Creating. Next, I decided to use my two new experimental paintings as the “finale” of my mask-creating adventure, adding them to this weeks “adventures in pattern making” collection.

Creating these patterns was a great exploration of experimentation, and discovery.
With a lot of inspired take-aways for future paintings.
Stay inspired, question everything, and pass it on….it’s one of our greatest gifts.

Thank you.

Thank you so much! More and more I am finding it a lot of fun (and a bit perplexing) that I am continuously paddling my canoe on “Lake Experiment.” One day I think “great! Let’s stick with this!” The next morning it’s a new inspiration. For now, I am just going with the flow, paddling with the current, a delighted and neutral observer.

Much the same for me. Going with the flow the best response I think!

The painting is beautiful. I had no idea about the copper method before but it’s certainly an interesting one. I love the vibrant contrast of colours; you have a good eye for colour co-ordination. And the mask designs look very funky!
